Camping Sweater

Not really summer, but at least we're getting some sun. In preparation for camping on Hornby Island, I made this sweater for Amelia. We call it the "camping sweater", since we won't really need it until the colder months, and it will be perfect for camping nights. Amelia has also named it "blanket sweater" since it's pretty cozy.

Fun with Clay

I picked up some play dough for Amelia the other day and thought it might be fun to get creative with Clay. I used Sculpey Baking Clay and gloss glaze to follow. Here's what turned out:

A nice little necklace ( yes there are flaws! I'm learning)
A gold chained one for my sister
A couple pairs of earrings
I baked these ones a little longer to give the white a little more antique look.

This rain seems to produce a lot more crafting, knitting and sewing, but I would really love some sun!

Summer Knitting

Somewhere between raising a child, running a home daycare, running a household, completing the Family Child Care Training Course and fitting in social time (busy as ever - but who isn't these days?), I finally found time to pick up the needles again and finish a winter project, turned spring, turned summer.

It's definitely an easy repetitive pattern, but whenever you work on something bigger it always takes time. Well summer is here, but the mornings are still cold and this sure is making someone happy! It was the first thing she noticed this morning, she sure knows how to make her mama happy ;-).
