Mellow Down Easy

Things that have been worked on lately here when we're not playing with Baby Islabelle or our other little friend Amelia:
(I only wish I could capture my child's ages and stages that beautifully)

A DIY Embroidery hoop Dreamcatcher Inspired by EvaForeva

Because you can never have enough things made with embroidery hoops!

The knitted pouf, which turned out more like the "knitted seat cushion" but my little babe loves it just the same. It's now her favorite place to read a book or just hang out:

Don't you love it when your kids use the things you've made? It really makes all those hours you've put into something worth it.

There hasn't been a lot that I've been inspired to make lately, since we've now turned our attention to the Garden, but Spring is on it's way, and what better way to spend your lighter-later evenings?

A little before shot:

Some small work we've been doing in the last month, the planting and mulching will come soon.

There is a lot more work to do, but so far, there is a space for playing and really what else do you need?

late winter warm-up

A simple, top-down seamless jumper, from my left over wool stash.

thank goodness we filled up the bird feeder the day before the snow hit. There is at least 6 birds huddled around it at any given time right now.

A couple of days ago, in the middle of the worst of it, we knit through it.

Happy Valentine's Day!

We're not doing much more than playing and playing and playing today! Plus we have some fun felt hearts in the mix to toss around. I love this day, only for it's crafting!

There has been a lot of knitting projects on the go, so not much time for anything else in my tiny bit of spare time, but I managed to whip up a new little bag for whatever we need it for!

I think it's obvious I don't even have time to iron ;-)

dreamy fat quarters

Thanks to Kaisha again for another great idea, I went to Satin Moon Quilt Shop on the weekend and ended up grabbing some pretty great fat quarters (5 bux each and when you buy 4 you get one free). We've been desperate for cushion covers here, and could never find any that we liked....well, we love our new cushion covers and it literally took me 30 mins to sew all four (I'm a sucker for easy projects!)

And for Alicia, I included one of me, since yes, I left facebook and there are no pictures of me lately (i think that's pretty great tho ;-) Check out Amelia's necklace, we also went to Beadworld yesterday and made some great little necklaces with elastic so that she could pull them on and off....she seems to love them so far!

Link Love

I like hype machine when I'm looking for music and only want to hear that specific artist. I LOVE lastfm for creating playlist from artists that I like (without having to do any work and I always end up finding new music) and now thanks to hype machine for the great suggestion.....8tracks where you can create your own mix or listen to some great ones added by other users. ahhhh...happy listening!

finished projects

I finally finished a long standing project from last year.....okay i half finished it! but it's more complete than when it was sitting in storage! I had hoped to embroider the entire thing, but who has the time?? So felt scraps it was! a quick evening to add a bit more cheer to the babes room and to soothe a long mama/daycare day.

I also started and completed a variation of the lazy daisy dress-up kit from www.pickles.no! I love that website (thanks Kaisha!) They offer free knitting/crocheting and sewing patterns and everything is over-the-top cute.

The turban is too much! haha...we love it though.
